Land Acquisition Bill

Nowadays Land acquisition bill is a trendy and one of the most controversial topic of discussion in India .Every news channel is discussing about it , and every opposition party is criticising it . Are these parties really standing with farmers or their support is just for the sake of their political benefits . let's have a view over the land acquisition bill .

LAND ACQUISITION IN INDIA

Land acquisiton means the acquisition of land by the central or state government of India for various development projects like infrastructures , power projects , dams etc.
Land acquisition is governed by  The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013, which came into force from 1 January 2014. Land acquisition in India was governed by Land Acquisition Act of 1894 till 2013. On 31 December 2014, the new government NDA 2 in India passed an ordinance with an official mandate to "meet the twin objectives of farmer welfare; along with expeditiously meeting the strategic and developmental needs of the country". The government passed Land Acquisition Amendment Bill in Lok Sabha on 10 March 2015 .

This bill is creating a lot of controversies . The main cause of these controversies is that the land owners are not getting their desirable prices for their land . They want the govt. to give them the market price of their land ,but the govt. is paying according to the already  set standards and norms. The farmers all over the India are also against this bill.  As this bill is not in their favour . They have the complaints that govt. takes their land and in exchange either they give land with less fertility or  very low prices . Moreover there is a huge area illeagally  used by the farmers for many decades . And this bill can take that all land back from the farmers . And none of the farmer will feel  happy in donating the land which is being used by them from the time of their great grand parents .One issue in India is that the records of land holding cannot be easily verified. This opens the possibility of disputes after purchase. Industrial enterprises use this fact to argue that the government should acquire land on their behalf.India is a country of emotions and feelings. And no one prefers to shift from their native place to other place . But due to various projects they have to shift .

The list given below shows the displaced population in various states due to various projects .

Nowadays most of the opposition parties are showing their support to farmers against this bill . The most reliable social worker of India , Anna Hazare is also against the bill . From Aam Aadmi Party to Indian National Congress all are criticising the Land acquisition bill .Our respective prime minister Mr. Narendra Modi always keep talking about the welfare of the farmers . But he is remaining silent over this anti farmer bill. For the development of the country this bill can play a revolutionary role. But the farmers , mainly those who don't have much land i.e. the small farmers , they will be most affected by this .

This bill could be  a good initiative for the development of smart India but it has a lot of drawbacks as discussed above . At this time , for the revolutionary development of India  this bill is compulsory but only after some necessary changes in it. It should be made farmer friendly and they should get goot quality land in exchange and the market price of their land. More on there is a need of explaining the bill to the farmers in a proper way and their feedback should be taken over the bill . Then only an effective land acquisition bill can be acted upon in India .

Harsh words hurt

A few days back I Read an article. I found it motivational and thats why I am sharing it with you .
Ex Indian President Dr. Abdul Kalam Says:
"When I was a kid, my Mom cooked food for us.
One night in particular when she had made dinner after a long hard day's work, Mom placed a plate of 'subzi' and extremely burnt roti in front of my Dad.
I was waiting to see if anyone noticed the burnt roti. But Dad just ate his roti and asked me how was my day at school.
I don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember I heard Mom apologizing to Dad for the burnt roti.
And I'll never forget what he said: "Honey, I love burnt roti."
Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy, good night & I asked him if he really liked his roti burnt. He wrapped me in his arms & said:
"Your momma put in a long hard day at work today and she was really tired. And besides... A burnt roti never hurts anyone
but HARSH WORDS DO!"
"You know beta - life is full of imperfect things... & imperfect people..."
I'M NOT THE BEST & AM HARDLY GOOD AT ANYTHING!
I forget birthdays & anniversaries just like everyone else.
What I've learnt over the years is: To Accept Each Others Faults & Choose To Celebrate Relationships"
Hope you  like the thought.
Thnx for reading .
